Marietta 90,000 Mile Service

The 90,000 mile service at Service Street includes all of the usual service checks and changes as the other major milestones in your car’s service record, but it is looking for some specific wear points defined by the manufacturer. When you bring your car into our Marietta location, we will check and change the fluids and filters that help your car run. At the 90,000 mile service mark, the manufacturers also want other specific items serviced such as spark plugs, sensors, gaskets and other longer lasting parts of your car. It is also standard to have the condition of your timing belt examined for wear. A Service Street technician may recommend replacing your timing belt even if it is still in good enough condition, as you want it to last the year.

The timing belt is one of the most important parts of your engine’s operating system. It can either be a chain or actual belt, but it turns the crankshaft and camshaft to coordinate and operate the intake and outlet valves of the engine. These valves are what control heat and pressure. If the timing belt slips or breaks, the engine will overheat and be damaged beyond repair. What manufacturers know is that by 90,000 miles of driving, the average lifespan of the timing belt is nearly done, which is why Service Street recommends a replacement at this point. Even if you can still drive with the current timing belt, you are at an increased risk for it failing.

Call and make an appointment at Service Street today in our convenient Marietta location. We service many makes and models of cars and can help keep yours on the road.
